Biography
Eric Luneau had an atypical professional career. Physical education teacher at the beginning of his career, he became a lifeguard and he continued to teach swimming from 2011 to 2018. In 2020, major of his master’s in Training and Optimization of Sports Performance (EOPS). During this Master’s degree, his research was dedicated to a validation of a bedside ergometer dedicated to
longitudinal assessment of neuromuscular function in ICU patients. He became a PhD student at the Interuniversity Laboratory of Biology and Motricity (LIBM) of Saint-Etienne under the supervision of Pr. Guillaume Millet and Dr. Vianney Rozand.
Neurophysiology and exercise physiology were his first areas of investigation. Subsequently, Eric was particularly interested in the impact of physical activity on health. Indeed, his PhD subject on “Effects of training on cardiovascular and neuromuscular responses to exercise: from young adults to very elderly” aims to investigate the kinetics of decline in cardiovascular and neuromuscular functions throughout life and to determine conservation period of these functions.
Eric Luneau practiced Handball in competition at the Saint-Etienne club for 15 years and reached National 1.
